About the course

Build a foundational understanding on the practical techniques and approaches in Musical Theatre.

Get a glimpse into what LAMDA's full-time training looks like through this one week course. You'll be taught by industry professionals who will support you in developing the practical skills and techniques you'll need to perform Musical Theatre. Take part in classes in Acting, Dance, and Singing technique, including 1:1 singing coaching with one of LAMDA's Musical Theatre specialists.

Work on a Musical Theatre project with a professional creative team, with the project culminating in a sharing performed in the studio.

What will I learn?

  • You'll learn about how to use and take care of your voice for Musical Theatre performance.

  • You'll explore Musical Theatre dance skills, and will put them to use by performing in a choreographed piece.

  • You'll learn how to tell a story through song, looking at the importance of acting within Musical Theatre.

This course is for participants aged from 16-18. Applicants should be comfortable working alongside other participants who are aged both under and over 18 years old.

Performance experience is required, but it does not have to be professional. 

You should have a level of English that is approximately IELTS 6.0. Although English language tests aren't mandatory, we recommend that if you are a non-native English speaker without a Level 6 IELTS, then you must have the equivalent English language experience. This may be assessed via telephone call by the Admissions team.
