About the course
Auditioning for Musical Theatre Programmes is the course to kickstart your audition process and get a glimpse of what conservatoire musical theatre training involves. If you are preparing to audition for an undergraduate or postgraduate musical theatre programme, this course will equip you with the skills you need to select, prepare and perform audition material.
The course will follow a timetable typical to that of the LAMDA MA & MFA Musical Theatre programme, with morning skills classes in singing, acting and dance followed by afternoon project rehearsals with a professional creative team. The week will culminate with a mock audition and an informal sharing of your project performance.
What will I learn?
- Improve your singing technique with one-to-one coaching
- Learn how to use and take care of your voice for musical theatre performance
- Discover how to tell a story through song or text and the importance of acting in musical theatre
- Explore a range of musical theatre dance styles and skills, working towards a choreographed piece
- Put your learning into practice by taking part in a mock audition
