About the course

This course is the ideal opportunity for you to experience actor training at LAMDA and to decide if applying for further study is right for you.

Each day will reflect a typical timetable at LAMDA, with morning skills classes (acting, voice, movement and singing) followed by afternoon rehearsals with a project director. Your skills classes will give you insight into the core training approaches offered at LAMDA, whilst the rehearsal project enables you to try putting what you’re learning into practice. The week culminates with an informal performance sharing for tutors and other course participants.

You’ll work within a supportive environment where you’ll be guided by your course tutors to work collaboratively as an ensemble. The course is tailored to the cohort's needs, so will be adapted to support your collective skill set and interests.

What will I learn?

  • Experience LAMDA actor training and the LAMDA ensemble ethos.

  • Get a taste of full-time conservatoire actor training.

  • Take part in skills classes in acting, voice, movement and singing.

  • Rehearse and perform scenes from a contemporary text, led by a LAMDA project director.

  • Reflect on what it means to train as an actor and participate in discussion Q&As, led by a course tutors.
