All about the course

Aspiring Company brings together those aged 18-25 to participate in skills classes and a rehearsal environment surrounded by peers. With the guidance of a director, you will explore contemporary texts that give voice to your experience and culminate in a showing of your work in a performance to friends and family in the 180-seat theatre at the Orange Tree in Richmond.

The course will start from the beginning, introducing the rules of a rehearsal room, and building your skills in voice, movement and acting. You will then spend the remaining time rehearsing your text ready for the showing.

The technical rehearsal and performance at the Orange Tree Theatre will take place on Sunday 11 August 2024.

What will I learn?

  • You will explore the process of building a character in a rehearsal room.

  • You will learn to work as an ensemble.

  • You will do skills classes in voice and movement.

  • You will gain insight and feedback from our expert teachers and directors, helping you to build a process of your own.

  • You will work with a contemporary text.
