LAMDA’s Actor Refresh classes are designed specifically for Drama School graduates, with the aim of allowing you to flex your muscles and connect with your community.

Each Actor Refresh runs in a four-week ‘block’. You may sign up for one block or multiple blocks.

Each four-week block is made up of 4, three-hour evening sessions (one a week for 4 weeks).

Upcoming Classes

Each four-week 'block’ focuses on a revisiting one of the core practices you explored at Drama School, allowing you to shake off the cobwebs and sharpen your skills.  

The classes will also enable you to work alongside your peers, providing you with a much-needed opportunity to connect over your shared passion.

Block 1: Accents This course will cover how to go about learning an accent for the first time, using a mixture of methods such as phonetics.

Block 2: Acting Fundamentals 1 (Revisiting Uta Hagen) Revisit methods inspired by Uta Hagen to unlock text work, using the techniques to work through a scene study.

6pm - 9pm, Thursday evenings on 19 September, 26 September, 3 October, 10 October

Application Deadline: Friday 6 September at 3pm (BST)
Block 3: Improv and Play

Re-engage with the skills of improv by exploring how to 'play' in a space. Move from 'yes and', all the way to applied improvisation. 

6pm - 9pm, Wednesday evenings on 30 October, 6 November, 13 November, 20 November

Block 4: Acting Fundamentals 2 (Meisner)

Revisit methods inspired by Meisner to unlock text work, using the technique to work through a scene study.

About our Actor Refresh Classes

Whether you graduated last year or ten years ago, this course is suitable for any actor who has graduated from a Drama School or equivalent programme.

You will revisit the practices you built at Drama School, allowing you to refresh and recalibrate your understanding. 

Key Information

You must be 21 or older to meet the requirements of this course. 

Applicants must have graduated from a Drama School Acting course of at least two terms (or an equivalent level of training at a recognised programme). If you are unsure if you meet this requirement, please contact our Short Course team on [email protected]

The course is delivered through the medium of English. Non-native speakers of English should have a level of English approximately equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

Course fee: £175 per block

A discounted rate on course fees is available for those booking multiple Actor Refresh blocks.
