Classes run on Wednesday & Thursday evenings from 6pm-9pm and can be booked as a standalone course or in conjunction with other Actor Refresh classes.

Applicants must have graduated from a drama school acting course of at least two terms (or an equivalent level of training at a recognised programme).
This course is designed for professionally trained actors. We believe this course will particularly benefit returning actors, or those looking to refresh their technique and build their confidence on screen.

About the course
Designed for professional actors, this course will refresh and revitalise your existing screen acting craft and practice. In a fast-moving industry, this course is an essential opportunity for actors to take the time to update their skills, get comfortable in front of the camera and gain the confidence to self-tape independently. You’ll finish the course feeling clear, adept and excited about acting on camera again.
Taught by industry professionals, you’ll be working to the most relevant and up-to-date industry practices and requirements.
About our Actor Refresh Classes
Whether you graduated last year or ten years ago, our actor refresh courses are suitable for any actor who has graduated from a Drama School or equivalent programme.
You will revisit the practices you built at Drama School, allowing you to refresh and recalibrate your understanding.
In this screen acting segment of the series, please note that even if your acting experience has been largely stage-based, you’ll be guided towards adapting your practice for the camera.

- Crafting a reliable solo prep process
- Re-finding the spark and excitement of working on screen
Self-Taping
- Required kit and how to use it
- Slating and how to create a professional tape
- Genre self-taping (including fantasy, horror and medical/procedural)
- Acting/Taping for commercials
Screen Craft Technique
- How framing and shots create sub-conscious story
- Technical accuracy: utilising lighting, sound, backdrop and eyeline
- Complex Action: scenes with props, driving, intimacy or violence
Screen Acting Technique
- Unspoken action: how to tell a story non-verbally
- Scene work: how to extract information from a script to create character and make choices
- Scene structure: creating a screen performance with depth and journey
- Accessing emotion safely and quickly
A CPD training course is the UK’s most well-recognised certification of Continuing Professional Development. Participation in a CPD course is a commitment to lifelong learning – allowing you to refresh your existing knowledge, improve your skills and keep up to date with current industry developments.
All participants must be 21 or over on the start date of the course.
Applicants must have graduated from a drama school acting course of at least two terms (or an equivalent level of training at a recognised programme).
This course is designed for professionally trained actors. We believe this course will particularly benefit returning actors, or those looking to refresh their technique and build their confidence on screen.
The course is delivered through the medium of English. Non-native speakers of English should have a level of English approximately equivalent to IELTS 6.0.

If you are offered a place on the course you will need to pay a deposit of 10% within five days of the date of your offer email to secure your place.
You will then need to pay the remainder of the course fee within 21 days at the latest. You must pay the full balance before the commencement of the course.
