About the show

From the everyday to the astonishing, and the ordinary to the miraculous, the Roman poet Ovid's stories of epic impossibilities explore the power of transformation, the resilience of humans, and the wonder of life.

The myths of Metamorphoses have inspired generations of writers, including Shakespeare. Over two thousand years later, they are reimagined for our world by three leading British playwrights, and feature anarchy, shape-shifting and a burning chariot of fire.

A Note from the Director:

As per the writers' request, we have made our own decisions as to the order of the stories, honouring their challenge for us to play and explore. What you are about to see was created, devised and dramatised by the company, using the text as a springboard.

Jack Gogarty (he/him) is an Essex born actor, writer and director. He trained as an actor at Italia Conti and has since gone on to develop his writing and directing skills in multiple productions for stage and screen.

He has been an acting tutor and director at many drama schools for a number of years, alongside continuing to work as an actor himself.

He coaches in writing, acting skills and improvisation, and specialises in comedy.

He is currently developing a TV Pilot, which he co-wrote and stars in, with a notable production company, as well as developing multiple stage productions he has co-written.

He loves dogs. A lot. And is also a big fan of a Terry’s Chocolate Orange.

He recently discovered that being an adult is mostly just googling how to do stuff.
