Sam Curtis Lindsay

Sam is the co-founder and co-artistic director of Hackney Showroom and family arts programme Disco Loco. 

As a Director, Sam’s recent credits include the Total Theatre Award-winning Burgerz by Travis Alabanza which sold out all of its dates at Hackney Showroom, the Traverse Theatre and Southbank Centre as well as a UK tour and dates in Ireland and Europe. Burgerz is playing at Brighton Festival and in Australia, Brazil and the USA in 2020. Class by Scottee ran at Edinburgh Festival and HOME in 2019, and has just returned from performances in Canada. The UK tour of Class starts in April, including a three-week run at Shoreditch Town Hall.

Sam is an honorary research fellow at Queen Mary’s University, London. He has been an associate artist at The Roundhouse and with the National Youth Theatre. He established Hackney Showroom Young Actors in 2015.
