Syllabus Update: Group Examinations
Updated Syllabus Specifications for LAMDA Group Qualifications to come into effect from 1 January 2026.
We are pleased to announce that updated syllabus specifications for our Group qualifications will be available from 1 August 2025. The first assessments under the new specifications will take place from 1 January 2026.
Please read the information below carefully to ensure that learners are prepared according to the specifications that will be in effect when they are examined.
Affected qualifications and exams:
- Group Recital: Entry Grade and Grade 1 – 3
- Group Choral Speaking: Entry Grade and Grade 1 – 3
- Group Acting: Entry Grade and Grade 1 – 8
- Group Devising Drama: Entry Grade and Grade 1 – 8
- Group Musical Theatre: Entry Grade and Grade 1 – 8
We will continue to assess learners who have been entered for the above qualifications against the applicable 2019 syllabus specifications for exams taken up to and including 31 December 2025.
Release

Development
The new syllabus specifications are being developed following an in-depth process, including a comprehensive review of the current qualifications, consultations involving key stakeholders including teachers and examiners, and a testing period to assess the new materials.
All changes to the syllabus have been made based on feedback. More details about changes will be available soon.
