Acting graduate records new industry podcast at LAMDA

LAMDA was delighted to welcome back Marion Githegi, a 2023 Professional Acting graduate who's started a performing arts-centric podcast. Marion recently produced her fifth episode and returned to LAMDA to record it.

Be Scene: Director's Cut is an exciting new podcast hosted by Marion that immerses listeners into the world of directing by showcasing film, TV and theatre directors in action. It takes listeners behind the scenes with talented and creative minds in the industry as they talk candidly about the casting process, give acting advice and offer sneak peeks into how directors bring stories and characters to life.

In the new episode titled How To Navigate Grief in Acting, Marion introduces guest director, writer and acting coach Toby Clarke and guest actors Mahaila Palmer and Laura Pujos.

During the episode, Clarke workshops a scene from his play REP with Laura and Mahaila, emphasising the importance of physical language and emotional depth in acting, particularly with a scene dealing with grief. He also gives insider tips for both directors and actors trying to navigate the industry while exploring other topics.

REP was previously produced at LAMDA in December 2023 with the BA Professional Acting and BA Production & Technical Arts Programme students.
