Lotte is one of those annoyingly driven people who knows exactly what she wants to do with her life: a vocation, a calling. She's not conventionally clever, or unconventionally either. She can however tell you everything there is to know about that inorganic solid material with the atomic structure of a liquid - Glass.  

With aspirations as high as the shard, a fixation with refraction, and an unraveling imagination, Lotte, your local window cleaner here in Eastington, is going to set the record for the most windows cleaned by a single person in history.

Meeting over a cigarette at a wedding, Heather and Alexander quickly figure out that they’re not star-crossed lovers. But as circumstance keeps throwing them together, and with talk of an ‘obsoletion date’ hinting at a dystopian backdrop, the two find themselves drifting closer to affection.

This might be true love – but if you’re not allowed to choose, would you even know if it was?
