Heather Nimmo
Heather trained at E15 on their Foundation Course and Drama Centre London, graduating from the BA Acting Course in 2008.
During her BA training she received the Lilian Baylis Award for ‘most promising second year student’ which was awarded to her by LAMDA graduate Ruth Wilson at the Old Vic in July 2007. She participated in the Carleton Hobbs competition and in her final year of study participated in the Conference of Drama Schools RSC Workshop for graduating actors.
Heather is an Acting tutor whose specialism is Uta Hagen technique and she has continued to develop her practice and teaching of the work as an associate of the HB Studios in New York having participated in training courses with Carol Rosenfeld, Founding Director, Uta Hagen Institute Mark Nelson, Actor, Director of Hagen Teacher’s Lab and Hagen Actor’s Lab and theatre lecturer at Princeton University. This training was both in the teaching and participation of Uta Hagen's practices.
Alongside this practice she teaches and directs performance projects for both contemporary and classical texts.
A passionate advocate for actor care and wellbeing both in actor training and in their careers in industry, she teaches modules in Artist Development where she works with student actors in building tools for resilience.
Before joining LAMDA in July 2023 as interim Course Leader for the Foundation and Short Courses she worked as Course Coordinator and Acting Tutor, for the Rose Bruford Foundation Acting Course in Brighton. Prior to this she was Year Consultant for the CertHE Introduction to Acting Course at Italia Conti and lead tutor for Uta Hagen practice for their BA Acting Course. She has also been a freelance Acting Tutor for Fourth Monkey Actor Training Company, Rose Bruford's MA/MFA in Actor and Performance Training and directing a graduating showcase, MA and BA Acting Tutor at Drama Studio London. She has also taught and directed at Identity School of Acting and Guildhall Summer School.
She is currently completing a PGCLTHE: Theatre and Performance at Rose Bruford.
