Annabel Mutale Reed
Annabel leads on development and innovation within Musical Theatre at LAMDA. In 2023, she wrote LAMDA's MA & MFA Musical Theatre degrees, which were successfully validated. She has a professional background as a director, playwright and lyricist, specialising in progressive Musical Theatre and innovation in Acting Through Song techniques.
She holds degrees from The University of Oxford, Guildford School of Acting and New York University, Tisch School of the Arts.
As Staff Trustee, Annabel sits on the Board and committees including the Audit Committee, Examinations Committee, and Academic Board.
She leads on staff and student EDI training at LAMDA and is Chair of the AdvanceHE EDI Network for Small, Specialist Institutions.
Annabel has taught and led workshops at other leading drama schools including ArtsEd and Laine Theatre Arts, and has a background in Educational consultancy. In 2025 she will take on an External Examiner role at the University of Chichester.
In her professional practice, Annabel has written with, and under the mentorship of, Claude-Michel Schönberg and collaborated on new musical development with Andrew Lippa.

In 2021, she was nominated for the Black British Theatre Awards 'Book and Lyrics Recognition Award' for her work as a book writer and lyricist.
