Latest releases
- Dame Harriet Walter narrates a new audiobook of the novel Atonement by Ian McEwan, available now via Penguin Audio.
- Rob Peace, starring Chiwetel Ejiofor, was released in US cinemas on 16 August.
- My Penguin Friend, which had its premiere in Los Angeles on 10 August, stars Alexia Moyano and was released in US theatres on 16 August.
- Ned Costello stars in the UK tour of The History Boys from 22 August – 2 November.
- Mewling and Puking, featuring Rachel Kitts, Sarah McCurrach and Jonathan Aarons played at the Hen and Chickens Theatre, Islington from 26 – 28 August.
- The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, starring Ben Daniels and Rory Kinnear, returns for series two on 29 August on Amazon Prime.
- Haluk Bilginer stars in the upcoming movie Maria, which had its premiere at the 81st Venice International Film Festival on 29 August.
- Peanut Butter and Blueberries, starring Usaamah Ibraheem Hussain, with Lighting Design by Rajiv Pattani and Deputy Stage Management by Aiman Bandali, was performed at the Klin Theatre from 29 – 31 August.
- Slingshot, starring Emily Beecham, is scheduled to be released on 30 August in US cinemas.
- Lizzie Schenk, Danielle Phillips and Sam Swann star in The Comedy of Errors at Shakespeare's Globe until 27 October.
- The Real Thing at The Old Vic runs until 26 October and features Sound Design by Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.
- Kit Fowler is the Deputy Stage Manager for The Taming of the Shrew which runs at Shakespeare’s Globe until 26 October.
- TURTLE: A Story About Christ, Cancer, Kinks, and Christmas will be performed at The Distillers Pub, Hammersmith, on 5 September. The play features Blake Stratso and is directed by Alex Osborne.
- Ruth Wilson is narrating new audiobooks of Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials, due for publication on 5 September.
- Daniel Rock stars in the UK and Ireland tour of War Horse from 5 September 2024 - 8 November 2025.
- Our Country’s Good at the Lyric Hammersmith Theatre, running from 5 September - 5 October, stars Simon Manyonda and Harry Kershaw.
- Charlie Russell and James Esler star in the UK tour of Birdsong from 6 September– 22 February.
- Alexandra Faye Braithwaite is Sound Designer for Abigail’s Party, which plays at Stratford East from 6 September – 5 October.
- Julius Caesar, playing at Southwark Playhouse from 6 September – 5 October, stars Eleanor Crosswell.
- Ellyn Heald stars in the Broadway production of The Hills of California at the Broadhurst Theatre, New York, from 11 September.
- Ken Bolden stars in the Pittsburgh Public's production of Dial M For Murder from 11 – 29 September.
- Kim Cattrall stars in BBC Radio 4 audio drama series Central Intelligence which begins on 13 September.
- Dame Harriet Walter will narrate as part of a performance of I, Clara: Clara Schumann – A Life in Music on 14 September.
- Claire Skinner stars in the film The Critic, which will be released on 14 September.
- A Very Royal Scandal, starring Ruth Wilson, is scheduled for release on 19 September on Amazone Prime Video.
- Matilda Bailes and Angus Imrie star in Never Let Me Go at Rose Theatre from 20 September – 12 October.
- Rosa Hesmondhalgh and Christopher Naylor star in The King’s Speech at The Watermill Theatre in Newbury from 20 September - 2 November.
- John Lithgow stars in Giant at The Royal Court Theatre from 20 September - 16 November, with Sound Designer Alexandra Faye Braithwaite.
- Anthony Calf stars in Redlands at the Chichester Festival Theatre from 20 September – 18 October.
- The Bagman, starring Sam Claflin, will be released in cinemas on 20 September.
- Patricia Hodge features as part of Barnes Bookfest on 21 September at the Barnes Methodist Chruch for Miriam Margoyles - ‘Oh Miriam!’
- Tingying Dong is the Sound Designer for A Doll’s House, playing at Sheffield Theatre from 21 September – 12 October.
- Nancy Carroll will adapt and star in the Menier Chocolate Factory’s production of The Cabinet Minister, running from 21 September – 16 November.
- Bryan Moriarty, John Rice and Jacinta Whyte star in Juno and the Paycock at the Gielgud Theatre, playing from 21 September – 23 November.
- Emmanuel Olusanya stars in the Royal Shakespeare Company’s production of Pericles until 21 September.
- Gabby Beans joins the cast of Romeo + Juliet, playing from 26 September – 19 January at the Circle in the Square Theatre, New York.
- All That Glitters, which will be performed at Theatre503 from 26 – 28 September and at Shakespeare North Playhouse on 9 – 10 October, is written and produced by Alex Critoph and directed by Jess Millward.
- Lee Braithwaite stars in The Other Place at the National’s Lyttelton theatre from 27 September - 9 November.
- Matt Doyle will star in the world premiere musical My Best Friend’s Wedding at Ogunquit Playhouse, Maine from 26 September – 27 October.
Things to look forward to
- Ziggy Heath stars in The New Real, playing at The Other Place Stratford-Upon-Avon from 3 October – 2 November.
- Gilbert Kyem Jr and Solomon Israel star in A Raisin in the Sun at The Lyric Hammersmith Theatre from 8 October - 2 November.The show is directed by Tinuke Craig, with Wigs Hair and Make-up Designing by Dominique Hamilton.
- Claire Redcliffe stars in Othello, playing at the Royal Shakespeare Theatre Stratford-Upon-Avon from 11 October – 23 November.
- Justin Mayer’s clown show, Laugh Lab, has been accepted into the Theatre Crude Fringe Festival in Oklahoma City, to be performed from 10 – 19 October.
- The Manchester Literature Festival will feature Julie Hesmondhalgh hosting Jackie Kay: A Life in Poetry and Protest on 5 October 5, followed by Dame Harriet Walter discussing her book She Speaks! on 19 October.
- The Score, starring Brian Cox, will play at Theatre Royal Bath from 12 - 28 October. The production will then transfer to Theatre Royal Haymarket next spring, with performances from 20 February - 26 April 2025.
- Denis Lambert joins the cast of Tammy Faye: A New Broadway Musical at the Palace Theatre, New York from 19 October.
- Leah Harvey stars in Girl in the Machine at the Young Vic from 16 – 26 October.
- Kelly Strandemo returns with an encore week of What The Constitution Means To Me at the Weathervane Theatre, New Hampshire from 17 – 19 October.
- The Brief Life and Mysterious Death of Boris III, King of Bulgaria, created by and starring Sasha Wilson and David Leopold, will tour across England from October 17 to November 9.
- Julie Hesmondhalgh, Rory Kinnear, Dame Harriet Walter and Katherine Parkinson join the lineup of performances in White Rabbit Red Rabbit, which runs from 1 October - 9 November at @sohoplace.
- Dame Harriet Walter attends a talk about her new book, She Speaks! What Shakespeare's Women Might Say, at the Stratford Literary Festival on 26 October.
- On 27 October, Dame Harriet Walter will perform excerpts from her new book, She Speaks! at the event Harriet Walter & Friends: Shakespeare Women Speak! at Richmond Theatre.
- Mike Gerbi's short film, Missing Her, has been accepted into its seventh festival, the Aesthetica Short Film Festival in York, a BAFTA-qualifying event running from 6 – 10 November.
- Gladiator II starring Joseph Quinn will be released on 15 November.
- John Lithgow stars in Conclave, due for release in cinemas on 15 November.
- Season two of Silo returns to Apple TV+ on 15 November, starring Dame Harriet Walter.
- John Lithgow stars in the animated Netflix film Spellbound, which will be released on 22 November.
- Brian Cox stars in the upcoming anime fantasy film, The Lord of the Rings: The War of the Rohirrim, which will be released in the US on 13 December.
- Bridget Jones 4: Mad About The Boy, starring Jim Broadbent and Chiwetel Ejiofor, will be released in cinemas on 14 February 2025.
- Katherine Parkinson is set to star in the new Disney+ series, Rivals.
- Benedict Cumberbatch will star in The Roses, a re-imagining of the 1989 comedy The War of the Roses.

- Mr Bates vs. The Post Office, featuring Julie Hesmondhalgh, Amit Shah, Esh Alladi and Matilda Bailes, has been nominated for Best New Drama at the National Television Awards.
- Fool Me Once and Red Eye starring Richard Armitage have both been nominated for Best New Drama at the National Television Awards.
- Nadia Parkes has been nominated for The Stage 2024 Debut Awards in the Best Performer in a Play category (sponsored by Theatrical Rights Worldwide), for her role in The House Party at Chichester Festival Theatre.
- Kelly Strandemo’s short film Hold, which she wrote and stars in alongside Emmy & Tony Winner Debra Monk, has won Best Picture in the Short Film category at the Montreal International Film Festival. Hold will also be featured at several upcoming film festivals, including the Martha’s Vineyard Film Festival (Massachusetts), SOHO International Film Festival (NYC), San Jose Short Film Festival (California), and Reel East Texas (TX).
