Dr Kristin Fredricksson
Kristin (she/they) is a teacher, researcher, performance maker and Feldenkrais practitioner. She trained with Jacques Lecoq in Paris in the 90s and worked as a freelance performer, director and puppeteer in Europe and Japan for ten years. Whilst in Paris, she trained as a Feldenkrais practitioner with Myriam Pfeffer, qualifying in 2007.
Kristin's company, Beady Eye Theatre, has regularly received Arts Council funding and her autobiographical multimedia theatre work has won Total Theatre and Arches Brick Awards. She has toured to venues and festivals such as the Barbican and Ruhrfestspiele (Germany) and been widely commissioned, co-produced and supported, for example by Without Walls, Farnham Maltings, Stockton International Riverside Festival, The Point Eastleigh, Espace Périphérique - La Villette (Paris) and La Nef - Manufacture d'Utopies (Paris).
Kristin holds degrees from the universities of Cambridge and Kent and her PhD was awarded by Royal Holloway, University of London. Her specialist area is Feldenkrais Method, self-image and material performance (including puppetry). She has published peer-reviewed articles in 'Theatre, Dance and Performance Training' and 'Paragraph'.
Kristin has been a visiting movement teacher at RCSSD, Rose Bruford College and East 15 and a visiting lecturer at the universities of Kent, Cambridge, Liverpool, Queen Mary and The Margate School. She is excited to share and extend her body of knowledge with the amazing students at LAMDA and accompany them on their creative journey.
